Book a ConsultationUnderstanding the Process
Egg freezing is a fertility preservation process that involves stimulating your ovaries, retrieving mature eggs, and rapidly freezing them for future use. Your frozen eggs remain safely stored until you're ready to fertilize them with sperm and create embryos.
Is This Right for You?
The earlier eggs are frozen, the higher the quality tends to be.
You're not ready to have children yet but want to preserve fertility
You're in your early to mid-30s and want to freeze eggs at higher quality ages
You're 35+ and want to preserve eggs before further age-related decline
You may need medical treatment (like chemotherapy) that affects ovarian reserve

The Journey
From initial consultation through cryopreservation — approximately two weeks from start to retrieval.
Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation where we review your medical history, menstrual cycles, prior fertility history, and long-term family-building goals. We perform ovarian reserve testing, including bloodwork (such as AMH and hormone levels) and a detailed ultrasound to assess your antral follicle count. This data helps us determine how many eggs you may need to freeze and whether one or more cycles may be recommended.
You will receive a customized, "just right" stimulation protocol tailored to your hormone levels and ovarian reserve. The goal is to optimize both the number and maturity of eggs collected while minimizing unnecessary medications and side effects. Medication instructions are clearly reviewed, and our team ensures you feel confident administering injections at home.
During stimulation, you will take daily injectable medications for approximately 10–12 days. You will come in for about 3–4 monitoring visits so we can track follicle growth through ultrasound and hormone levels. These short visits allow us to carefully adjust medication dosing in real time to support healthy, synchronized follicle development.
Once your follicles reach the appropriate size, you will receive a trigger injection to prepare your eggs for retrieval. The egg retrieval is a brief, 10–15 minute procedure performed under light anesthesia.
Immediately after retrieval, your eggs are transferred to the embryology laboratory. Each egg is carefully evaluated for maturity, and mature eggs are frozen using advanced vitrification technology. They are then stored in cryostorage until you are ready to use them in the future.
Common Questions
Egg freezing preserves your fertility options if you're not ready to have children now, want to freeze at a younger age when egg quality is higher, or need medical treatment that may affect ovarian reserve.
From initial consultation through cryopreservation, the active cycle typically takes about two weeks — including 10–12 days of stimulation and monitoring before retrieval.
Eggs can remain frozen for many years using vitrification technology. Storage duration depends on your goals and clinic policies; our team will discuss long-term storage options with you.
When you're ready, your eggs are thawed, fertilized with sperm in the lab to create embryos, and transferred to the uterus or further tested as part of your personalized plan.
The ideal number depends on your age, ovarian reserve (AMH and AFC), and family-building goals. Dr. Jenn will recommend a target based on your testing and may suggest one or more cycles.
Egg freezing retrieves eggs that would otherwise be lost in a natural cycle. It does not deplete your overall egg supply beyond what would occur naturally, though ovarian stimulation is a medical procedure with risks we discuss in detail.
No fertility treatment guarantees a future pregnancy. Egg freezing preserves options, but success depends on age at freezing, egg quality, and how many mature eggs are retrieved and stored.
Preserve your options. Protect your timeline. Freeze your eggs under expert guidance from Fleura Fertility — with a Goldilocks approach that's personalized to you.
